When I went to Alaska, I did it on a cruise ship. Mark, however went the hard way (with a lot of help from Hertz) and visited the tent cities in Alaska and met with service providers in the area. The story can be read HERE

Outside North Hollywood High you can buy sodas, cookies, tacos etc. My daughter says that instead of drug dealers they have Food Dealers and low income students depend on them so for $1 they cam eat dinner because there often isn’t food at home

You know you’re poor when bottled water in the suburbs means refilling plastic jugs from the hose spigot by the broken pay phone outside of 7-11. It had never occurred to me until I just saw it.

Well, this is a painfully ugly picture of me, but look at the lady next to me. When I met her, she was 9 months pregnant and freshly homeless. Today she has completed a CNA course and is looking for a job and successfully single parenting. I’m soo proud!
